Named after a 19th-century Utopian community in the Hudson Valley, Brotherhood Winery sold "medicinal" wine during Prohibition and attracted 10,000 cars per day in the early days of wine tourism following World War II.

We couldn't not put this on the list! A 1.5 hour train ride away via Metro North, you can't go wrong with New York City. Emily lived there for three years while going to school and Kevin made it there almost every other weekend to visit (to his dismay, country boy!). The Lower East side and Washington Square Park are our favorite parts to visit.
It's the world's longest elevated pedestrian bridge, spans 1.28 miles over the Hudson River. Ya gotta do it once.
This is probably a hike, no pun intended, but we can't tell you how many dates we've had here over the years. From the sprawling gardens, restored mansion, and vast trails along the Hudson River, it is beyond stunning.
