Benton and Winston’s friendship began with a roommate search as the two Carolinians hoped to make the cross-country college move a little smoother. After years of UCLA antics and even more post-grad adventures, it is safe to say they made the right call. Benton and Grayson first met long ago as teammates during YMCA peewee soccer (league champs). The pair graduated from soccer to church basketball, football, and lacrosse as they navigated elementary through high school together. Grayson's warmth and laid back attitude makes for seamless reunions on the rare occasions one can visit the other, and Benton is glad to have that calming energy in his circle for the big day! Benton met Emily’s older brother Derek on one of his first trips to the Huang residence in Irvine. Upon meeting Derek, Benton had the immediate impression that Derek is A) very smart (Double Bruin!) and B) a very chill guy (a relief when meeting future in-laws). Over the years Benton has always appreciated Derek’s advice spanning the latest tech, real estate, investments, but most of all travel and dining. Ask Derek for… his best vacation recs!

Dani and Emily met sophomore year in the sorority house, and Emily was immediately drawn to Dani’s infectious love for life, sparking an instant friendship. Looking back, Emily deeply cherishes their long chats over a cup (or cups) of coffee on their college apartment's balcony about all their life aspirations - watching many of these dreams come to fruition has been nothing short of amazing. Jack, a senior at UCSB, is 7.5 years younger than his brother Benton but the two bonded over a love of adventure and deep appreciation of the great outdoors. Since Jack moved West they have road-tripped, camped under the stars, and pondered life’s mysteries over a couple of cold ones. Jack brings the energy and is a solid bet to be the first to hit the dance floor. Ask Jack about… his scuba diving excursions!

Emily was drawn to Monica’s cool, calm exterior, only to discover a goofy, funny side that made her even more lovable. Emily loves that when she's with Monica they can do it all - whether it’s laughing at silly videos one minute or diving into a deep conversation the next, her presence makes everything brighter (and even made a 110 degree hike in Joshua tree not feel so painful!) Rivers, a junior at UF, didn't make his way West for college like his older bros but distance can't break their brotherly bond. Rivers and Benton keep in touch with rambling phone calls - equal parts lamenting their sports fandom, cooking or fitness tips, and general yap. Benton is thankful the two share a healthy competitive streak that drives each other to become better people (unless Mario Party is involved). Bernie, one of Benton’s fraternity brothers, was introduced to Emily via a fierce aux cord debate on a party bus (Emily won that battle). Future hangouts through the years were less musically contentious and Bernie was eventually swayed to use his renowned oratory skills to officiate Emily and Benton’s big day. Dan “Fitz” FitzPatrick quickly bonded with Benton at UCLA over their shared love of sports: football, basketball, baseball, shuffleboard at Barney’s - sports, period. Countless games later, the two now hold the high honor of fantasy football co-owners, a position both hold dearly. As a coach for the Clippers, Fitz’s wedding attendance hinges on the team’s playoff hopes, but if he is able to come you won’t be able to miss his jovial midwestern attitude and renowned gift of the gab.
