Lauren: I saw Emilio rushing to orientation the first day of landscape architecture grad school orientation in 2018. I knew he'd be in the program because he was hauling a giant 24"x36" sketchpad, and I was inside the UW bookstore buying one at that moment. I came in 15 min late, and later we talked and ate lunch at Westlake Park during our orientation Seattle tour.
Lauren volunteered to organize a 30 person dinner for the UW landscape architecture Copenhagen study abroad group. After much spirited debate, Emilio offered his support to make homemade sweet potato gnocchi for the group. We truly worked together to make the meal happen. We started the night with classmates rolling pasta dough inside a hostel kitchen, and ended with group singing and dancing to show tunes and a visit to the Irish pub!
Not quite. We were studio project partners that just couldn't be separated for long. When COVID shut life down, Emilio joined Lauren's housemates pod and we've been silly goofin' ever since.
