A fantastic view of Golden Gate Bridge. Hike along the coast and enjoy the scenery or head down to Sutro Baths to explore.
A classic spot for tourists. Beautiful scenery.
Did you know bison have been living in Golden Gate Park since 1891? As animal lovers, we had to check them out!
If you haven't tried pasteis de nata, you are missing out! This crispy Portuguese egg tart is so good that it's all this tiny hidden place sells. Get more than one pastel, it's guaranteed you'll want more once you taste it!
An SF must-try. If you've never had a fresh warm pineapple bun with a big slab of butter in it, you're missing out. They're called pineapple buns because the sugar crust looks like a pineapple! No pineapple in the buns (unless you order the one with pineapple filling.)
Of course you need an ice cream place! One of our favorite ice cream places that often has asian flavors. We love a good black sesame ice cream, though Emilie also really likes the Li Hing Mui when it's available.
One of the first places we went after getting married, and our official new favorite ice cream shop! Tom was blown away by the flavor choices and Emilie thinks the Mangosteen was the best.
Delicious pastrami, an appropriate amount of garlic, and they even have drag brunch on weekends. Emilie is pretty convinced they have the best garlic fries (at least when the owner is cooking).
One of our more recent stops for some of the best BBQ.
The best coffee you'll ever have. Tasty crepes. Cash only!
Fantastic Brazilian food with gluten free options. The cheese bread sandwiches are the best, but don't forget to try the classic coxinha, or a delicious rissole.
Venezuelan deliciousness. Emilie's favorite is the yellow arepas and cachapas with a generous amount of aioli. (Also gluten-free!)
If Japanese curry is your jam, this is the absolute best place to go.
A taste of (the country) Georgia. Khachapuri Adjaruli is one of our favorite dishes. Who can say no to a melty cheese boat?
A classic. Having lived in Daly City together for the last 12 years, of course Filipino fusion would be on the list! The Tosilog burrito is probably our favorite.
One of Tom's favorite Filipino dishes would have to be the crispy pork lechon. If you're looking for the best lechon in the Bay, Bai Cebu is where it's at!
Looking for classic Filipino? Can't make it out to Hayward just for the lechon? Chibog is what you want! Their lechon kawali is next best, and don't forget an order of the lumpiang shanghai! Tom also really loves the nutty kare-kare stew with crispy tadang.
Middle Eastern cuisine! Gorgeous hummus dishes, delicious shawarma, and it'll come to no surprise that Emilie's here for the cheese stuffed falafel.
Our new favorite Indian restaurant that has the best fall-apart in your mouth lamb curry.
Excellent Hawaiian food with generous portions.
We have yet to recommend a Mexican place! So here it is, a tiny hole in the wall. There's nowhere to actually dine and it's carry-out only, but if you haven't tried cheesy birria tacos then you're in for a treat.
Our favorite Sunday farmer's market where we like to walk, pick up some greens for the bunny, and get some tasty things to eat. The Maillards stall is our favorite burger on the Peninsula. We would say it's the best smashburger!
Every fall we get oysters here and drive to a beach to eat them. Tom thought it was a fantastic day to propose and he was right!
We LOVE cheese. If you're headed out to Tomales Bay for oysters, this is a perfect little stop to pick up fresh cheese on the way and see the cheeses being made. The Foggy Morning with Basil and Garlic is Emilie's fav. Tom will tell you to stay away from the Nicasio Square unless you're brave enough to try something super funky.
Looking to explore Napa? V. Sattui is one of the best picnic spots. Emilie insists on getting some fresh local bread and the garlicky kefir spread. She's not a wine drinker though, so you'll want to ask the local experts their for their recommendation.
A decent restaurant with beach access. Great place to go for a walk after you eat!
Emilie took Tom here once in the dark, to look for sea urchins. They only found one that had been stepped on. Would recommend coming during the daylight instead. Tidepools full of sea anemones, snails, and shore crabs.
