Q and Emilie met through a church in Florida (meet your spouse in the House!!) and spoke for the first time that Emilie can remember when Q got baptized, congratulating him on his baptism. Q remembers the first time he saw Emilie when he was sitting in the back row of a Young Adults night at church, before getting baptized and before he was fully following Jesus. He saw Emilie in the front row, through a crowd of people, holding her cross necklace and singing. He assumed she had a boyfriend and left it at that. Huge shout out to pickleball, because it later became the conduit to getting to know each other in a group setting. On their first night hanging on 1v1, they went to play pickleball and maybe got 4 games in... they could not stop talking. They sat on the curb of the parking lot until midnight talking about our faith and testimonies. The parking lot chats continued for a long time.. often after church just talking for hours. FUN FACT! Q + Emilie had a first date set that Emilie blew off in October '24, but they remained very close and in the same friend group for months until, in March 2025, they started officially dating... for another month or so until Emilie broke it off, blaming bad timing. (And she was being a little stubborn.) Q has never once given up on pursuing Emilie and making sure she knew she was the person he wanted to marry. Even when it was difficult, and Emilie was struggling with trusting a genuine, good man, he never let up! He was always there for her and finally, she confidently said yes to dating in July. AND NOW... they are engaged to be married. (Yay!)
