Craig and Emilie first met back in 2009 while they were attending college at Oakland University. They were both involved in greek life-- Craig was in SAE and Emilie was in Phi Sigma Sigma so they were always at the same events and social gatherings. They ran into each other again the night before Christmas Eve 2016 at a bar in royal oak. They instantly hit it off. They texted eachother throughout the holidays and after several weeks of texting Craig asked Emilie on their first official date together. For their first date, Craig took Emilie to Iron Horse in Royal Oak for dinner and Astoria for coffee and dessert after. Emilie came home after their first date and told her mom that this guy could be the one for her (and she was right!) After their first date they found themselves spending more and more time with each other. They both worked night shift at the time so they spent most of their mornings together after work hanging out, cooking breakfast for each other, or watching movies at 6 am while the rest of the world was sleeping or just waking up to start their days. Craig asked Emilie to officially be his girlfriend on February 10th, 2017 and they have been together ever since. They moved in together November of 2017 where they live now with their dog Chloe.

Craig proposed to Emilie on August 21, 2018. They had just gotten back from a trip in the Smoky Mountains together. Craig had asked Emilie's dad for his blessing months prior to this and had planned to propose on the trip but he couldn't get the ring in time. Emilie was feeling like he might propose on the trip so every "special" moment they had on the trip she was thinking he might get down on one knee. It actually ended up working out perfectly that he couldn't get the ring before the trip because she was genuinely surprised when he proposed to her the day after they got home. She went off to work that day and he went to the jewelers to pick up the ring. They were at Emilie's parents house watching her family's dogs. Emilie got back to their house after work and Craig had cooked dinner for them. In the middle of dinner Craig got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Emilie of course said yes!
