Blaine and I have always known about each other through our moms, but didn’t “officially" meet until our high school homecoming dance when I was a junior, and he was a senior. At the dance, I walked up to his group to say hello to a friend of mine with hopes of being able to talk to him. I came with a date, but that night, Blaine and I danced the night away together! We went on our first date to Starbucks a few weeks later where we sat and talked for hours like we knew each other for years. Fast forward to college, Blaine and I were 1.5 hours away from each other at two different colleges and spent every other weekend visiting each other. Though it was challenging, we fought through it and came out even stronger. Long distance taught us many things, but the most important lesson was that our love could get through any obstacle that came our way. The weekend of the proposal, Blaine played it off like his family was inviting me and my family to a weekend in Fredericksburg, and me being an undeniable wine-lover, I couldn’t say no! Little did I know, Blaine planned the entire weekend, and had my sisters (who I thought would be arriving late) decorate our Air B&B while we were at dinner. At dinner that night, there was a wishing well and I just so happened to wish that 2021 would be the year we get engaged - and a few hours later, we were! After 7 wonderful years, these high school sweethearts can't wait to tie the knot!
