Wedding Party

Meet the amazing people making our day even more memorable!

Leah Strain

Maid of Honor

"I met Emilie at the beginning of freshman year at Michigan State University and we've been best friends since. We survived living together, traveling together, and have gone through some of life’s biggest changes with each other and I'm happy to stand by Emilie’s side during one of the best events of her life."

Ragib Miah

Best Man

"I met Asad about 12 years ago in our freshman math class. We were alike in taste so it added up and our friendship kept functioning from that year. All puns intended."

Liz Espeland

Bridesmaid

"I met Emilie through work and we share a love of cats, plants, and baking!!"

Nadim Syed

Groomsman

"Unlike the other guys I didn't meet Asad in high school, instead we met through a mutual friend. We started hooping together, going on picnics and generally hanging out. This friendship continued into college and Asad would come visit us in Ann Arbor all the time which created some of our fondest memories. I'm happy for Asad and Emilie and I know they'll have a happy and wonderful marriage.

Holly Hooper

Bridesmaid

"Emilie and I met as technicians in the same lab at MSU, and ended up working towards our master degrees together. She turned two years of potential suffering into two years of laughing, and I feel extremely lucky that I found someone who appreciates mammillated processes as much as I do. I am so happy for Emilie and Asad, and I can't wait to celebrate them on their wedding day!"

AJ Khan

Groomsman

"I met Asad back in high school, 9th grade. Most likely, it was in the cafeteria playing chess. A bunch of us used to play together and it was fun and very competitive. At first, I viewed Asad as a snobbish, arrogant, mean jerk, but as the months went by he grew on me and became one of my best friends. He became my brother actually. I truly love him and care about him. I'm so happy and excited for him as he enters into this new chapter of his life. He's truly one of a kind."

Heather Leach

Bridesmaid

"Friends that slay together, stay together!"

Mamun Ahmed

Groomsman

"I met Asad in high school - funniest guy I know. Asad always knows how to make people laugh. He's a great friend."

Linda Mason Strain

Bridesmaid

"Emilie and I met in the fall of 2013 through my daughter, Leah, at MSU, my Alma Mater. We’ve shared so many good times and great memories; Clark Street, camping up north and in my backyard, and exploring Old Town. Then in spring of 2017, Jon, Leah, and Emilie all graduated on the same day! As I’ve told Emilie, I have prayed for her and Asad over the last 6 years, as I do for all whom consider me Mama Linda. I will always treasure my Leah and Jon’s involvement in this blessed event and your honoring of me as a bridesmatron. Thank you, Emilie and Asad. Love, Mama Linda."

Juned Ahmed

Groomsman

"I forgot when we first met, seems like I always knew Asad. Might have been in the alley where we used to hoop behind Asad's house or some public bathroom. Wouldn't be surprised because Asad's weird. Asad used to wear a loose tie, never properly tied all the way, dress pants that were folded on one leg up to the ankle. One thing I do know about Asad though is through the many years I've known him he's been filled with positive energy through the highs and lows in life. Asad's just a teddy bear stuck in a big dudes body. I pray that Allah bless him and Emilie on this wonderful journey."

Jackie Stone

Bridesmaid

"I've been known to fall out of chairs in public places while sober. I also share a made up middle name with the bride."

Shabab Choudhury

Groomsman

"Asad once told me, you miss every shot you don't take. Go for it. If it doesn't work you'll go through some pain. It's normal. But.. what if it does? Shoot your shot!"

Shammi Khan

Bridesmaid

Anwar Miah

Groomsman

"I met Asad in 10th grade at Cass Tech. We were introduced through a mutual friend and after getting to know each other we became good friends. We mostly hung out during the school day; we used to play Halo in one of his classes and started tech club in school too. He was there for me when my girlfriend broke up with me and made me realize there are more fish in the sea. He's always been a good friend."

Syed Haque

Groomsman

"I met Asad 10 years ago during freshman year of high school. Sharing car rides to Tech Club and eating potato wedges from the corner store are some of the most fun moments I've experienced with Asad and the CT '011 crew. Known as "The Truth", the squad chef, and holds the bragging rights over ALL of the squad members with 3 championship rings and counting ;)."

Minhazur Rahman (Banu)

Groomsman

"Fun fact: The thing I admire most about Mr. Asad Khan is his kindness. There are many things in life that we may not have seen perfectly eye to eye one such as religion, politics etc., but one thing I was always admired was his kindness. He has always been very kind to people in the way he talks and how he treats them. It's actually a trait of his that I look up to and aspire to emulate. I just want to make sure to let you know you kindness does not go unnoticed. Wherever you got this from, keep it up man. Don't lose it. I'm your kindness was one of the traits that attracted Emilie to you as well. Wish you both nothing but happiness in this next chapter of your life. Stay grinding. Stay humble."

Mubin Ahmed

Groomsman

I met Asad in high school and we have been friends since. Although, I'm younger than Asad he's always been a great friend.

Mohammed Fahad

Groomsman

"Asad gave me the nickname "Fufu" and we used to hoop in the backyard. I got bodied though because Asad is pretty big."

Arif Khan

Groomsman

No words can amount to how grateful I am to have Asad as my older brother. Growing up, we never spent much time together because he went off to MSU, but I know he will always be there for me and I have so much love for him. Emilie is a sweetheart and I'm glad that they found each other. It's not everyday that you meet someone as kind and genuine as her. From the bottom of my heart, I wish them nothing but the best.

Ashran Bakth

Groomsman

"I have gout"

Imran Salique

Groomsman

"Best moment with Asad was during Islamic Studies when we used to goof around and fight with other kids. Worst part was when the teacher got mad at us and beat our ass. The funniest part was when the teacher got so mad at Asad and made him do the chicken. Now looking back at it thinking dang we were some trouble makers!"
