It was the first semester of their Freshman year of high school when the young couple first met. Two awkward kids in a Mythology class. The first meeting did not go quite as well as expected, but their friendship quickly blossomed. Throughout the last 14 years the two have become each other’s best friend and closest confidants. Despite going in very opposite directions and living thousands of miles apart, they never lost touch and always remained close. 8 years later, they decided to start dating. Now, almost 6 years later, they’ve finally decided to tie the knot!
Beginning in December of 2018, Andrew began to hatch an elaborate plan to propose to Emilie. He did so with the help of her parents; Marylene and Jean-Francois. Unbeknownst to Emilie, Andrew was going to propose on a day that meant so much to her. A day that held significance across generations of women in her family. That day was March 2nd. That was the day that both her mother and grandmother where each married. Andrew was entrusted with Emilie’s mother’s original engagement ring and he carefully handcrafted a custom ring box to accompany it. After all this careful planning and preparing, the day came to ask the question. With the help of a close friend, Emilie was kept out of the house for what appeared to be a typical Saturday brunch. Meanwhile, our hopeful groom was frantically cleaning the house and putting all the final touches on his vision. When Emilie arrived home she slowly made her way upstairs where the first thing she noted was a beautiful bouquet of lilies. She was quickly greeted by their dog, Drogo, who had a small wooden box delicately attached to his collar with a white ribbon. When she looked up she would find Andrew, dressed in a suit and waiting for her with a smile. Andrew asked Emilie to take the box from Drogo’s collar, he then took it from her, opened it and asked the question they had both been waiting to hear, “Will you marry me?”
This is where our story needs you! Keeping with family tradition, we will be getting married on March 2, 2020. We want to celebrate this day with all of our friends and family. All of the people who have always supported us and helped us get to where we are today. None of this would be possible without your love and support. So to thank you, we ask that you join us on this day to celebrate our union!
While we are choosing to stick to some pretty amazing family traditions, we've also decided to do a rather unconventional thing. We want to truly symbolize the union of our two wonderful families while also paying homage to the start of our own little family. In order to do this, we have chosen to combine our last names. By taking the first 3 letters of Oberdieck and the last 3 letters of Cayron, we will officially become the Oberon family! So don't be alarmed when you get to the venue and see Oberon everywhere, you're in the right place ;)
