We've found that Google Flights is the best and easiest way to find flights. The link is set from NYC to Oaxaca, but our guests from Illinois can put in Chicago instead of NYC to see the prices! At time of posting, prices are around $450 from NYC for an economy seat; that's REALLYYY good for Oaxaca so jump on a deal like that when you see one!! FYI... 1 stop is required to enter Oaxaca since it is a small airport, usually being either Texas or Mexico City We recommend flying in Thursday to enjoy the city before the wedding (it also happens to be the cheapest day to fly into the city!) The link above has the return flight on Tuesday. That would give you time to go to the beach (a couple hours away) or stay a couple more days and get to see the quaint city better! That week, prices don't seem to be affected by departure date, so stay as little or as long as your heart desires!

Places to StayPlaces to Stay
Many have found great success using Airbnb or even booking a hotel in the city. Airbnb tends to be the most economical option. We recommend staying in the Reforma, Centro, Barrio De Jalatlaco, or San Felipe regions of the city. They are all extremely close to the Venue with the exception of San Felipe (short cab ride from the outskirts into the Centro area). There are hundreds of beautiful Airbnb's throughout those areas. They are extremely safe and beautiful areas to stay in, and you can walk to and from them peacefully and with no worries.

CabsCabs
Oaxaca has an official cab system. We recommend using them for the easiest and smoothest vehicular transportation. Here's 2 ways to use them during your stay in beautiful Oaxaca: 1. If you're feeling adventurous and want to test your Spanish, you can tell them your destination, and they'll take you there for usually less than $150 Pesos ($6-$7 USD) 2. DiDi is an app where you can request a cab service (almost exactly like UBER). Use your location and put in your intended destination and it will match you with an official taxi. It could take a minute for it to match but be patient. No haggle, pay either on your phone beforehand or with cash after the ride!
