Our first meeting was strictly by chance. I (Emilee) hosted a game night at my apartment. Several people attended, including my then - longtime- boyfriend -whom- I -wanted- to -marry and a friend of a friend and her "much older boyfriend"....Sellers. We barely spoke. We sat on opposites sides of the room. But we both connected with each other over our love of useless trivia and mutual weirdness. He left that night thinking, "man, that girl sure was something." And I always remembered his blue eyes.
Time went on, as it so often does. We both dated other people. We both had relationships end horribly. Sellers was deployed. I had three colon surgeries. And yet, somehow, we managed to always remember each other. Sellers was quite possibly the wittiest person I followed on social media. And he loved my tales from being a classroom teacher. After several months of conversations and realizing we had similar tastes in music, movies, and shared a love for Lewis Grizzard, we both could tell we were attracted to the other. Seven years (well, almost) after we met the very first time, we decided to have lunch. A short lunch turned into talking for almost four hours at a sushi restaurant (that he had recommended) I would always stop in to on my drives to and from Biloxi.
