You know that moment when you look at somebody REALLY cute & you can feel your face getting warm, your heart rate is picking up just a little bit & you're almost hoping that they don't notice so you can keep staring and avoid that whole not-so-casual "I wasn't just checking you out" moment? Our story starts a little like that. Dylan and I met in October 2017 at Lowe's in Oxford, AL. We worked part-time in Appliances & Outdoor Power Equipment (respectively). I'd been at Lowe's for a little while, and I remember when he started because I was walking through my department and heard the distinctive metallic "clicking" of a hand truck coming down the central aisle & there he was. In a passing moment, he caught my eye, smiled & kept going. Oof, that smile, guys - talk about warm cheeks. Walking through each other's departments and playing coy became our quiet ritual. Until one day, I felt bold & if he wasn't going to do it, I was - it was time to initiate contact. On the way back to my desk after a lunch break, I slipped behind him, gave his red vest a little tug, looked over my shoulder, and smiled my best "your move" smile. & we were off. A million little moments make up your life with someone, and I have loved all of our little moments. Sitting in the Tahoe in the parking lot, long after everyone went home talking, laughing, & listening to his favorite songs; kisses around bonfires; dancing in the kitchen while everyone was asleep; the first "I love you" in a beachside condo; twisting up together on a couch that's too small because we want to lay together; graduating college & moving into our first apartment; and so many more. I still get butterflies when I hear a hand truck & that smile still makes my heart race. There are so many little moments and memories that are our life together, but this one will be my favorite.
