A 21st century love story. Emilee and Carl met on the dating app Hinge. There's differing opinions on how the initial conversation went but after a week of discussing Carl's fear of crows (birds in general) and whether or not Emilee believed in ghosts they decided to meet in person. Emilee chose the spot for the first date. St Jack's, a bar in NW Portland where the bartender was an old friend from college who vowed to make sure Carl wasn't a total creep. Second date was thousand acre dog park to make sure Bandit and Koda would get along (the real deal breaker). Third date was tacos and whiskey. The rest is history. In January it will be three years since their first conversation. With COVID restrictions taking up a large chunk of that time most trips were road trips to places like Seattle, Montana, Utah, and trips to Hawaii. Carl introduced her to real car camping. Emilee introduced him to real Oregon Duck tailgates. We're excited to have moved into our first house together and seeing what the future holds. Good things coming...

As most of you know, both of us do not love being center of attention. However, we wanted an opportunity to celebrate our commitment to one another with family and friends. With that said, here’s what to expect: Food, drinks, yard games, music and possibly the opportunity for some toasting and roasting. … basically, think of this like a big summer BBQ. Though we would be happy to see everyone there, those who are outside of Oregon should not feel obligated to make the flight out for this. We love you all the same.
