We're getting married!

We grew up together as classmates, neighbors, and friends in our hometown of Tehachapi, CA. We even dated in the third grade! One night in eighth grade, Jackson ding-dong-ditched Emerson’s house. After a couple of doorbell rings, Emerson hid in the bushes and sprayed Jackson with a hose as payback—and that’s when our love story officially began. We started “talking” as middle schoolers do, and within a few months, we were officially boyfriend and girlfriend. We dated throughout high school and survived a long distance stint in college. We moved into our first shared apartment in Pomona, CA in 2021 when Jackson began his PhD at UC Riverside. After a couple of busy years supporting each other’s goals and dreams, Jackson proposed in May 2025 and Emerson said “yes!” Together, we’ll be moving to Rochester, NY for Emerson’s internal medicine residency program starting in June 2026.
