We met at a friend's college get together and spent the entire night only talking to each other. We chatted about me helping plan a party for Moses' friends coming into town. I told him to call me in two weeks to discuss further details. I counted down everyday until he called and he finally admitted there was no party and that he just wanted to take me out on a date after all.
Moses & I had a big wedding planned in 2008. We went venue shopping, picked out decor & I even put a deposit on a dress. Later that year our country was in a recession & we knew it would not be wise to spend our savings. Moses & I applied for our marriage license but never set a date. I was living in Corpus Christi & he was working in Texas City with hardly any days off. Oh by the way, we were expecting our 1st baby in 4 months! I was determined to get to Houston & make it official before our baby arrived. I called Dream Wedding Cottage in Tomball & the minister said she had an opening. Once I got to Houston with Moses I had no idea how I was going to pull this off. He had no days off! March 14th was here & we had a 10:45 a.m. appointment 30 miles away. Moses got home at 7 a.m. & I woke him up at 9 a.m. I was all ready to go. Moses looked at my hair & makeup all done & knew I was serious. He never asked me any questions, he just got ready. I told him we needed to go to Walmart 1st. Once inside I led him to the jewelry counter & told him to pick out his wedding band because we were getting married in 30 minutes. He smiled at me & laughed saying "I knew you were up to something." Finally we reached the wedding venue in Tomball. Outside we sat in his car & before he opened his door he looked over at me & said "are you sure this is what you want to do?" I looked my best friend of 4 years, the love of my life & father of our unborn child in the eyes & said “as long as you promise we’ll have our dream wedding one day.” Both in agreement we paid $162.50 to be married that day. The minister that performed our ceremony said she felt the Holy Spirit in this place & didn’t even know we were Christians. When God has a plan for you many bumps will come & try to delay what He’s promised for you. I am blessed beyond words to have a love like I have. Moses & I don’t regret one decision & thankful our DREAM WEDDING IS FINALLY COMING TRUE!
