You read that right. We often thought that very sentence when people would ask how we met. At the time Tinder relationships were often provisional and undisclosed. Long-term relationships were well, delusional. So, we opted for an abridged version. We told many people that we met at school/college, near a study area, in the health building. Our eyes locked, we talked before our next classes, exchanged numbers, and the rest is history. Truthfully, fate had crossed our paths a couple of times before. To get everyone up to speed, a little while before, I had swiped right on the picture of Lance and Sampson. He had apparently already swiped right on the picture of Khloe and I. The statistics on profile pictures with dogs don't lie. We kept in touch through Tinder, but life was too busy for much else. Months later, I had ordered pizza for a study night. Lance happened to be working at this pizza place, recognized my name (from Tinder), and hand delivers all this pizza to just me. How he matched the name to my face at the time is beyond me. Let's just say I did not look like my profile pictures. Stunned, I grabbed the pizza and ran. He was supposed to live in Sioux Falls, not Hartford! Fun fact, Lance actually remembers the order to this day. Soon after, we had a good laugh about the whole encounter and never really stopped chatting after that. We found ourselves virtually sharing what little free time we had. Life was still too busy with school and work. We even mentioned what degrees we were achieving. Somehow we forgot to mention the school we BOTH were attending. A couple of weeks later, we did find ourselves at STC "near a study area, in the health building."
