We met during a weekend retreat trough Intervarsity our freshman year at UW-Eau Claire Em's Story: I had a snarky attitude and Cam was his goofy self. When I dealt it, he gave it right back and vice versa. We both didn't think much of it until our friend groups started hanging out together. We connect because of our love for Jesus, friends, and so much more. He quickly became the main reason I made such an effort to plan group hang outs. A few months later Cam asked me out on our first date. The rest is HISTORY! Cam's Story: We met at a Christian retreat and the speaker told us he had met his wife at that same retreat, however many years before. I don’t think anyone rolled their eyes more than me and Emily. Neither of us had any intention or any desire to meet our future spouses and actually laughed at how corny that would be later that night. As our friend groups merged we quickly discovered that we enjoyed talking to each other, but only in a playful, friendly matter, because God-forbid we ever pursue each other. But our continuous connection and foundation of Jesus Christ led us to drop our egos and realize that something really beautiful could come from this. After some shoulder counting and uncovering whitle lies we began our journey to where we are today.

We got engaged at my Grandparents cabin. We later found out my grandpa and grandma Twite also got engaged there, which made it that much more special! It was a total surprise! Cam had talked with my mom and was originally planning to propose in Eau Claire a few weeks later, but the opportunity presented itself and he took it!
