How We Met

Swipe Right!

Elizabeth and Mason originally met on Tinder in December of 2020. After swiping right, Elizabeth was the one to make the first move and messaged Mason first. Mason's bio mentioned that he didn't like the band KISS and she had to let him know that she was named after a KISS song. After hitting it off over a few messages they exchanged numbers and decided to meet up for coffee and hot chocolate. On their first date they planned to meet up at a local coffee shop, since this in the middle of COVID Mason didn't know the coffee shop he picked was actually closed due to worker shortage and Elizabeth thought this was a ploy to kidnap her. Nonetheless, that was not his plan and they decided to drive down the road and go to Panera instead. After hours and hours of talking and basically closing up the Panera, Mason and Elizabeth both knew that they wanted to get to know each other more and keep hanging out after their first date. So much so that they sealed it with a kiss in the parking lot that night. Elizabeth and Mason spent the next three years falling in love and growing together. From doing all their favorite things like watching the Sopranos for the millionth time, walking their dog Sonny, taking family vacations and enjoying sweet treats, Mason and Elizabeth just knew they were each other's forever.

The Proposal

May 25, 2024

Mason and Elizabeth work completely different schedules and they finally had a weekend planned to go out to eat at one of their special restaurants, The Chophouse. This restaurant is usually reserved for Birthdays and Anniversaries, so Elizabeth was a bit suspicious that they were going on a random Saturday. After getting a speeding ticket the morning of Elizabeth was nervous of what the day would bring and spent the whole lunch pestering Mason with questions of "what's next??". Mason quickly deflected her and threw the suspicion away, which made Elizabeth sad, but she knew that they both loved each other, and it would happen when it was supposed to. After enjoying a yummy lunch the couple headed over the Butler Art Museum which was Elizabeth's favorite spot to visit during her college days at Youngstown State. Once inside the museum, Mason held on tightly to Elizabeth's hand not letting her wander off too far from him as they took in each painting and sculpture that they walked by reading each little description. They stopped in front of a painting of waves crashing in the ocean, one of their favorite memories with each other is visiting the beach in the summertime. Mason asked Elizabeth if this painting reminded them of the two of them, she replied yes. Then suddenly, Mason called out "Hey Jordan!" which was strange to Elizabeth because why would their friend Jordan be at the museum too? Elizabeth figured that out very quickly when Mason got down on one knee and asked Elizabeth to marry him. Without any hesitation she said yes, a very teary eyed yes. The couple spent the rest of the time taking photos. Earlier that day Mason told Elizabeth he had plans with their friends that night and she asked him "Are you really going to hang out with your friends after we just got engaged?!?" and then Mason let her know he planned an engagement party for them at V2 to celebrate tonight. Later that night with their friends and family, Mason and Elizabeth celebrated the start of forever!
