Airports

No matter what country you are flying in from, Oslo airport is our closest at a 2.5 hour drive away. Stockholm Arlanda airport is our second closest option with a 5 hour drive to Sälen.

Travel Note

Hire Car

Car Hire in Stockholm/Oslo is easy! Hiring a car will be the simplest way to get to Sälen and a brilliant way to explore the rest of the country once you arrive. We would recommend HERTZ or AVIS.

Train

Trains and Buses

Public transport is available from Stockholm airport to Sälen. (Train/bus) SJ Rail runs from Arlanda Central Station to Sälen Hundfjället hotellet (SkiStar Lodge Hundfjället). The trip will take approximately 6-7hrs depending on connections. Please get in touch if you need help booking this with your flight. Sadly, public transport is not available from Oslo Airport to Sälen.

Olarsgården

After an eventful day of travel you can return to the hotel before meeting other wedding guests in the bar or unwind in the library. In the evening you can enjoy local flavours from the Sälen mountains in the restaurant Elgen. (Be sure to book if you're interested) Welcome drinks will be held here from 4:00pm-6:00pm on Friday 4th. Shuttle information For those staying at Olarsgarden, a shuttle bus will be picking you up at 12:35 on Saturday 5th of August to bring you to the church for the wedding ceremony. Please let us know in your RSVP if you wish to drive or join the shuttle. At the end of the night, it’s a three minute walk from the dance floor back to your pillow at Olarsgarden.

Gammelgården

A secret hideaway in the mountains - First built in 1649. Gammelgården is distinguishable for being a place of tranquillity in a scenic setting both indoors and out. If you seek a slice of tranquillity you have come to the right place. Roll out of bed and straight to the recovery Waffles? We will be meeting in the dining room for traditional waffles the morning after. (More info in schedule) Be sure to get in quick to secure your room. From £125 per night Shuttle information: Guests staying at Gammelgarden will be picked up at 12:50pm on Saturday 5th of August from the hotel entrance and taken to the wedding ceremony. Please let us know in your RSVP if you wish to drive or join the shuttle. A shuttle bus will return guests to Gammelgarden at 00:30am after the wedding reception.
