Maid of Honor
Allison and I are fraternal twins. Jake and I met first In high school before Allison knew or dated him. As time passed we got closer and our friend group grew. I’m excited to be able to witness my family grow as Jake will become my brother. I love them both and I am excited for their union. Allison, you are my sister, cuddle buddy, and life line. No matter how far we are apart our energy remains dynamic when we come together. My forever best friend. From the womb to the tomb.
Maid of Honor
Allison and I met in 2007, when I was but a mere freshman on the JV soccer team and Allison was a junior on the varsity team. Over the time we played together, we would sit together on our way to games listening to songs like "Freeze" by T-Pain on repeat for WHATEVER REASON! We honestly could not tell you why we listened to that song so much, but we did and we killed it shamelessly. It was soccer that initially brought us together, but little did I know our friendship would develop into much more. Allison quickly became someone I could confide in, look to for guidance, and she became a big sister I never had. I met Jake a short time after, and I’ve witnessed a bond formed between them that’s incomparable. I’m honored to be apart of their special day and I can’t wait to witness their union!
Matron of Honor
Allison and I began our story back at Howard. We met a couple of times and had friends in the same circles, but we weren’t very close. During our senior year, we interviewed at Meharry and we connected as if we’d been the best of friends for years. Being friends with Allison was so easy, so natural. From pool parties to sleepovers (though we were basically neighbors), trips to Atlanta and Vegas to board exams. We’ve seen one another through the most instrumental times in our lives. Through it all, I’ve watched Jake love her unconditionally and for that, I love him too! Not being able to run to Marshall’s on demand when she left scarred me, but we talk everyday so she still feels near. Here’s to marital bliss and moving to the same city and running a practice together in the near future!
Best Man
Jake and I met in middle school simply because both of our last names started with B. Back then neither of us knew what this friendship would become, but I don’t think either one of us would have bet that it would grow to what it is today. On April 25th, I will stand next to my brother (just like he stood next to me) when he says "I do" to the woman of his dreams.
Flower Girl
Allison is my big cousin. She has always lived far away, so I love to FaceTime and talk to her on the phone, until mom makes me give her the phone. I love spending time with her when she is in Atlanta, and I'm so excited to be a flower girl (even though Allison won't let me wear red)!
Flower Girl
The bride is my Nanny (NOLA talk for Godmother) and I love her! I can't wait to walk down that big aisle to share in her big day. I've been practicing since I turned one. She's gonna be so pretty and I will too! Uncle Jake will be handsome as well! Thanks for choosing me to be your flower girl. XOXO Tye Butterfly
Ring Bearer
Aunt Allison can say she has known Uncle Jake for over 10 years, but she can’t say she has known him for her entire life, like I can. There is family you choose and there is family you are born with, and I am so lucky to have been born with an uncle like Uncle Jake.
