We met (surprise, surprise) in Las Vegas, NV! Emaurie was working as the Worship Pastor for Grace City. Hannah was working as a Dietitian in a Long Term Care Facility and attending Grace City. Hannah moved to Vegas, following her maid of honor, Lia Fischer, who was working for Emaurie as the Worship Coordinator. We were part of the same friend group and one day Hannah had the genius idea that maybe her and Emaurie would be good together. Some friends caught wind of this and force-ably told Emaurie he needed to ask her out! Februrary 11th 2017 we went our first date and we both decided it was "meh." Not bad, but just like being out with a friend. 3 days later on February 14th 2017, we were going to a small group event. Hannah went to pick up Emaurie and he told her to get out of the car for a second. He held behind his back chocolate and a single rose and asked Hannah to be his Valentine.

Skip ahead to November 23rd 2018 in Paris, France. Hannah was on a trip with Lia and friends Chris and Katherine (who are also in the wedding party). We were supposedly going to a free tour of Luxemborg Gardens. As we walked through the park, Chris loudly acknowledge a Washington Monument look-a-like. This was the cue for Emaurie to come up the steps in front of us. As soon as Hannah saw Emaurie she stopped walking and exclaimed in surprise, "Oh my god!" Emaurie presented her with a single rose and then proposed in French (and then in English) and Hannah said "Of course!" Then Emaurie loudly and excitedly told Hannah to "put the ring on!"
