Four years ago on July 17th, I met Emani online. She was very persistent in getting to know me, even though I was playing hard to get. After talking for a while we decided to exchange numbers. We would text or call each other all the the day, talking about any and everything. We had a our first date at Outback Steakhouse because Emani swore by their rye bread and I must admit, it was pretty good! During our dinner we stayed engaged in deep conversations about our upbringing, what our jobs we're like in the U.S. Navy, our favorite foods, things we like and don't like, etc. Before we knew it, it was 11pm and the restaurant was closing. As I walked Emani back to her car, we continued our conversations and ended up talking for three more hours while sitting in an empty parking lot. After speaking to her, I felt as if I've known her my entire life! We decided to call it a night and go our separate ways for the evening, but when Emani went to start her car, she and I had realized that the battery was dead. We were so engrossed in our conversation that we didn't realize we left the car on the entire time! Of course I offered to try and give her car a jump and when that was unsuccessful, we called Triple A and I offered her a ride home. After I dropped her off and we said our "goodbyes", it was at that moment that I knew she was the woman that I was going to married!
