Join us in Celebrating the Marriage of...

Our story is a unique one that included the thoughtful involvement of friends and family. We are so thankful for their involvement because it has led us to this special day! It all started when Emily began her graduate program in August of 2019 for Occupational Therapy at Milligan University. In her first semester, she became close with a small group of friends in her cohort, one of them being Chantal Wilson. As Chantal and Emily got to know each other better, Chantal mentioned to Emily that she had a lot in common with her brother, Matthew. After careful consideration, Chantal told Emily that she wanted to set her up with Matthew. Emily was hesitant at first, but after some time had passed, she reached out to Chantal and told her she was ready to take a chance and go on that date with her brother, if he was still interested. Emily and Matthew had their first date in November of 2020. They spent the next month being intentional about getting to know each other. In December of 2020, Emily and Matthew became official. From then on, they started a long distance relationship as Emily finished up her graduate program and internships. One weekend in September of 2021, Matthew visited Emily during her internship in Charleston, SC. Little did she know, he had special plans for her that weekend. Matthew took Emily out to a nice breakfast at a local restaurant near the beach. Afterwards, he took her to see a lighthouse at the beach and take pictures together in front of it. It was there that Matthew took Emily by surprise, got down on one knee, and asked Emily to marry him. Emily, of course, said Yes! And the rest is history! We are so thankful to have each and every one of you join us for our special day to celebrate our union and the love we share!
