Both Kevin and Emily were Environmental Earth Science majors during their time at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. They had many classes and group projects together and studied in the library and at a local cafe often. The two took a wine tasting course their senior spring where their friendship turned into a relationship.

After graduating from college, the two went back to their home states - California and Massachusetts. The distance was tough, but it was worth it.

In January 2019, Emily and Kevin moved into an apartment in downtown Denver. Colorado was a great middle ground for them and they have fallen in love with both the state and each other more and more each year.

On their 5 year anniversary it happened to be blizzarding in Colorado. The two had planned to go Cheesman park in Denver to have some champagne before going to dinner. After trudging through the snow to a pavilion, Kevin got down on one knee and asked Emily to marry him! Emily learned to true value of investing in high-quality, waterproof mascara (don't worry, she will be sure to be wearing some for the wedding)!
