Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

We expect the ceremony to start at 10:30am EST. We ask that you arrive by 10:15am to park and make your way to the seating area. There will be coffee, tea, juice, water, and something small to snack on available prior to the ceremony, so feel free to arrive earlier!

What can i expect from the ceremony and reception?

Answer

We anticipate that the ceremony portion will last 30-45 minutes in total. After the ceremony, there will be a cocktail hour with drinks and small bites available while the brunch buffet is being set up. The reception will likely consist of brunch and some speeches before heading to the beach for more of the "party" portion of the day.

is there a dress code?

Answer

We want you to show up and wear whatever makes you feel good. The ceremony and reception will be outside in late-August so dress for the weather! Jeans/shorts/sneakers are acceptable. Feel free to match the art/garden theme by wearing vibrant colors and floral patterns. We will both be dressed more casually as well :)

So you're going to the beach after brunch?

Answer

That's the plan! Attendance is completely optional, and you can expect this to be a more low-key social gathering that involves swimming and sunning (weather dependent..). This is a public beach, so we are not sure how crowded it will be and how strictly rules are enforced related to alcohol consumption. To be safe, be sure to enjoy the open bar at the SCA! You are welcome to wear/bring your swimsuit to the SCA and change there after brunch if you don't want to go back to your hotel before heading to the beach.
