Elyse and Larry first crossed paths at a 2020 get-together hosted by their friends Kate and Vinny. Both were back in New York briefly—Elyse between travels getting ready for a tiny home adventure and flight-attendant trips, and Larry pausing his own cross-country adventures. What started as a simple introduction quickly became a long conversation about road trips, hikes, and all the places they hoped to explore. When they exchanged Instagram handles and realized they had identical Cannon Beach photos as their lock screens, it was a surprising coincidence that stuck with them. They kept in touch until a three-day layover brought Elyse to Vancouver, WA, where Larry met her for their first date. In August 2025, on a beautiful day full of surprises, they got engaged on the mountaintop of the very ski resort where they’ll say “I do.”
