Sean and I grew up two miles from each other. I played on the playground while Sean and my cousins played pee wee football together. We played indoor soccer. Sean played for the public school and I played for the private school. Sean played offense and I was a defender, which obviously means I stuffed him anytime he tried to get past me. When I graduated high school, I decided to attend Jefferson Community College, which is where Sean transferred to from OCC. After JCC, I moved to South Carolina to attend school and Sean moved on to Potsdam, which is where I ended up transferring to. I attended several parties at the "Lacrosse House", which was where Sean lived. One of my coaches at JCC was Eliza Gaines, who was dating Carl Urbaniack, Sean's cousin. Seven years later I got a job at a radio station in Watertown where Eliza worked. We became close friends and she invited me to her wedding. On July 9th, 2016 I arrived at Eliza and Carl's wedding. I had previously met one of the groomsman, Justin, and had asked him to tell me the names of the others. Justin said the names of each guy and pointed them out. "And that's Sean" he said as he pointed to a tall, handsome guy, who was crossing his arms. I asked what his last name was and Justin said, "McAuliffe". I said, "I think I know him". As Justin looked back to Sean, he replied, "Uh, yeah... I think he knows you too". When I glanced over again, Sean was staring. Sean finally approached... one of the bridesmaids that I was talking to and started a conversation with her. When she walked away, leaving Sean and I alone, I waited, what felt like a very long time, for him to speak. And he didn't. So, after eighteen years of being in the same place at the same time Sean and I finally spoke our first words to each other. I asked, "Do you remember me?" He said, "Yes".
