Finally "Hinged"! (Leah's Version)

Gotta love a good dating app...

Our love story is very... let's say.. Gen Z. We both decided to download Hinge in the summer of 2020 (just for fun, of course!), and I (Leah) was the first to make a move. Christian put on his profile that he had never had a Popeye's Chicken Sandwich, and I decided to start a conversation on the app about the value of Popeye's vs. Chick-Fil-A. If you know me well, this shouldn't surprise you. Two weeks later, we met at Coffee MCO, a coffee shop about 15 minutes from me and an hour away from Christian. I had no idea he lived an hour away until about a month later.. Chrisitan did a good job of keeping his distance under wraps. In September of 2020, we made it official, and 6 days later Christian popped the L-word (haha). Christian continued to drive an hour or more multiple times a week to see me until he finally moved to Los Angeles six months later to be closer. His move was followed by many changes, including my graduation and commissioning, adopting a rowdy dog together, and moving/preparing for adult life. I always told Christian I wanted to wait at LEAST a year to get engaged, so a year and two days after our first-date-iversary, he popped the question. And here we are! We are so excited to celebrate our special day with you all.

Christian's Version

After downloading Hinge and masterfully crafting a thought—provoking and intelligent Hinge bio about the lochness monster, it was only a matter of time before a woman of Leah’s caliber took notice. About a month after installing the app, Leah slid into my DM’s on Hinge, and then fell into my trap of carefully premeditated jokes and responses secretly coordinated and reviewed by my group chat. Eventually she had no choice but to accept my invite for coffee (after ghosting it for a weekend). I drove out to L.A. and got to the shop about 10 minutes early, waiting for her text to confirm she had parked. Upon getting out of my car I saw Leah for the first time as she ran up to introduce herself. She looked absolutely nothing like any of her pictures. I had been catfished. Bamboozled. That’s because some random girl had confused me for someone else, Leah was standing about 10 feet behind her. About 2 hours later we wrapped up and I began the long trek home where I called my friends and told them that Leah was absolutely “wifey material”, while subsequently avoiding texting her first to not seem too interested. Easy read. She gave in after an hour and texted me first. Following that date, I smoked her in golf (she broke the club on the first swing), took her to a Guitar Center date where I heard her sing for the first time (she’s okay), the Drive-In’s (she talked through the whole movie), and a handful of other totally original dates not ripped off from Google before I made it official. And then I told her I loved her while we watched Lord of the Rings the first time.
