Yellowstone National Park

Welcome to America's first National Park! Located just 2 hours from the Sacajawea Hotel, Yellowstone National Park is an easy drive to enter an entirely different world.

Missouri Headwaters State Park

Within the boundaries of this scenic park, the Jefferson, Madison, and Gallatin rivers merge to form the 2,300 mile Missouri River. The Headwaters State Park is a hiking/bicycling park with interpretive trails and vistas that commemorate Lewis and Clark's Corps of Discovery Encampment in 1805. It was later the site of Fort Three Forks, established by the Missouri Fur Company in April of 1810. The park contains picnic areas and river access for boating and fishing.

Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park

The Lewis and Clark Caverns feature one of the largest known limestone caverns in the Northwest. The two-mile cave trail winds its way through spectacular underground rooms lined with stalagmites, stalactites, columns and helictites, and are naturally air-conditioned and lighted for safe and enjoyable visits open May 1 through September 30.

Headwaters Country Jam

We might have done it, just the way the schedules worked out. Our wedding is the same weekend as MT Country Jam Festival (which is about 20 minutes outside of Three Forks). If you are looking for some super country, cowboy, white trash drink festival with some music on top- this is for you. Overall, it is a fun festival.

Madison Buffalo Jump Monument

This cliff was one of the larger Indian pishkun of buffalo jumps used to secure buffalo meat on a mass scale, before they had the horse for hunting. The buffalo stampeded over such cliffs and were either killed outright or maimed so that they could be safely killed by Indians on foot. The Madison Buffalo Jump has attracted the attention of the nation's foremost archaeologists, and is located 12 miles from Three Forks. Take the Logan exit off I-90, then go 7 miles south on Buffalo Jump Road.

Montana White Water- Zipling & Gallatin River Rafting

Montana Whitewater provides high quality adventure activities near Yellowstone National Park, this location is between Bozeman and Big Sky. They specialize in whitewater rafting, zipline, fishing and tubing trips great for families, first-timers, and thrill-seekers. Another office is located near Mammoth Hotsprings in Gardiner, MT.

Norris Hot Springs

Soak in the Water of the Gods at Montana's geothermal wonder, located in the beautiful Madison River Valley.

Headwaters Public Golf Course

Play a round or two at the Headwaters Public Golf Course, featuring a 9-hole course amid beautiful panoramic views. Constructed in 1988, the golf course borders ponds where wildlife, including birds, geese, deer, and turtles mingle with the golfers. Lessons are available. The Pro Shop rents golf carts and stocks a wide assortment of golfing equipment for sale or rent.

Boiling River Hot Springs

It's right near the North Entrance to Yellowstone accessed via Gardiner, Mont. The Boiling River is created where a large hot spring enters the Gardner River, allowing the hot and cool waters to mix into a temperature comfortable enough to bathe in. The natural hot tub makes a great place to stop and relax while soaking in the warm water and soaking up the natural beauty of Yellowstone.

Montana Whitewater provides high quality adventure activities near Yellowstone National Park, Located in Gardiner, North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park, on the banks of the Yellowstone River. They specialize in whitewater rafting, full Days run through legendary Yankee Jim Canyon. Their other location includes zipllining which is between Bozeman and Big Sky.

Big Sky

Big Sky is a very special place for the couple. This is home to Biggest Skiing in America. However, in the summer unlimited access to outdoor recreation: the wet and wild whitewater experience, blue ribbon trout streams, backcountry hikes, meandering wildlife, and widespread wildflowers.

Headframe Spirits

One of your favorite drinking spots. They have tasty cocktails and a tasting room. The tasting room is open 10-8 Monday thru Saturday and 12-5 on Sunday. Swing in to samples some spirits and to immerse yourself in Butte's history and culture. The tasting room staff will happily make you a cocktail or two and share some of the stories from Butte's colorful past. They are family friendly, with a fun selection of non-alcoholic beverages to choose from.

World Museum of Mining

66 major exhibits with dozens of smaller items give you a feel for the kinds of equipment that were used in mining from the 1860s to the 1970s. A faithful re-creation of an 1890s mining town, with 15 intact historic structures and approximately 35 buildings constructed from old materials by the many volunteers who put the museum together from the mid-1960s to the 1980s. (The honorable Judge Kurt Krueger, also father of the bride, laid the brick for the streets as his Eagle Scout Project).

Bert Mooney Airport

The Bert Mooney Airport with direct flights to SLC only is about 55 miles away from Three Forks Montana.

Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport

This is the closest airport to Three Forks, MT. This airport is 20 miles from Three Forks and is the busiest airport in Montana. They provide non-stop flights to 17 cities in the United States with connections all over the world

West Glacier

West Glacier anchors the western entrance to Glacier National Park and provides a variety of visitor services including lodging, cafes and gift shops. Recreation activities include golfing, hiking, biking or cruising nearby Lake McDonald on a boat tour or rafting the Flathead River. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are available in the winter too. Finally, it is one of the stops on Amtrak's northern route across Montana. Begin your exploration of the Crown of the Continent in West Glacier.

East Glacier National Park

East Glacier Park is the perfect point to start, headquarter or end your visit to Glacier National Park. There are over a thousand miles of hiking trails with views of glaciers, brilliant wildflowers, snowcapped peaks and clear mountain streams. Varied wildlife inhabit Glacier National Park, including bighorn sheep, mountain goats, ptarmigan, and both black and grizzly bears. East Glacier Park will provide you with the largest variety of facilities and supplies available in the area.
