Elvin & Sharlein met at church when they were teenagers. Elvin hardly talked so you can imagine Sharlein’s surprise when he finally spoke to her during a church camping trip. After adding her on Facebook, Elvin asked for Sharlein's number and that started a texting frenzy between them. During another outing, Elvin held Sharlein's hand, and Sharlein gave him a kiss. 12 years later, on the anniversary of that kiss, Elvin and Sharlein will be married! On Dec 19, 2020, Elvin & Sharlein ordered pupusas to-go with the intention of having a picnic at Signal Hill Park. They were running behind and by the time they got there, the sun was gone and the night was chilly so they ended up eating in the car. Afterwards, they walked to a bench on the hilltop and enjoyed the view together. As a musician played soft music on his guitar in the background, Elvin handed Sharlein a letter and told her to read it out loud. It was a beautiful love letter that ended with "We have both been ready to start our own adventures for a little while now. So I only have one question to ask..." When Sharlein looked up from the letter, Elvin was down on one knee and popped the question!
