Hike the M Trail
Starting at the edge of town, this is a 1.7 mile hike up to the M and back. It has a nice view from the top.
Lake Como Recreation Area
About 1 hour 15 minute drive from Missoula, beautiful lake with hiking trails.
Blodgett Canyon Overlook Trail Hike
3 mile hike in the Bitterroot National Forest, about 1 hr 15 minutes from Missoula
Pattee Canyon Recreation Area
A popular recreation area with lots of trails close to town. You can also hike up the back of Mount Sentinel from here (the mountain with the M). The Crazy Canyon trail was recommended to me if you are looking for a longer hike!
Glacier National Park
About a 2.5 hour drive from Missoula, a great place for hiking and enjoying mountain views.
Yellowstone National Park
About a 4 hour drive from Missoula, Yellowstone has areas to hike and enjoy mountain scenery. Also unique for its hot springs and geysers.

This steakhouse is in Lolo, MT, and would be a good option if you want to go for a little drive out of town.
