We met at a Super Bowl party among young PhDs at Rice University! Enter Elsa -- speaking three languages but only getting paid for speaking 1. Enter Pavan - in his pre-doctor youth. We bonded over South Park and how we both emotionally support vaccines -- true love. We then proceeded to not see each other for 6 months (playing the long game).
Like so many of our peers, we thought it would be a great idea to counter pandemic anxiety and career burnout by getting a dog. Of course we rescued! And he's a monster! Milo is a 90 pound disaster with no boundaries. It is a miracle that any of us are still alive. After 2 years, we decided that we were playing with borrowed time and decided to get married.
Pavan proposed in Central Park before seeing Book of Mormon on Broadway (we purchased the tickets in advance like a sucker but it was worth it). After over an hour of exploring every section of Central Park, Pavan decided to pop the question. We were tired, sweaty, and disgusting but we left the park that day like G. D. Royalty. We then got the best pizza of our lives. This sounds very cliche but you have to remember that we were living in Houston, TX and good pizza is not assumed. Anyway, we're happy.
We moved to New England! Now that we're here, we decided to make all of you come here to see us get married.
