It all started at the University of Idaho (go Vandals!) during freshman year in 2013, when Elsa’s sorority and Jon’s fraternity were paired for a Greek Week skit. Jon noticed Elsa right away, but it wasn’t until a sorority event weeks later that sparks really flew— we both conveniently ditched our actual dates— found each other and spent the rest of freshman year having the most fun imaginable. Summer came, life did what it does, and for the next few years we stayed just friends—until Elsa spent winter break of her senior year volunteering in remote villages in Ecuador. Jon couldn’t resist a woman who loves philanthropy and adventure. We talked whenever there was cell service… and never really stopped from there. After graduation, we tried long-distance as Jon pursued his golf career in Phoenix and Elsa moved to Portland to pursue public accounting. We quickly realized this wasn’t just a college fling. We decided to move to Seattle, pursued careers in tech, built an incredible life with amazing friends, and fell in love all over again through shared adventures big and small—from weekend road trips exploring all the Washington hot spots, to discovering our love for traveling and skiing together. In 2020, when the world went remote, we followed our hearts to a tiny mountain town in Montana. What was supposed to be temporary became forever. We put down roots, adopted our greatest joy (our giant fluffy Bernedoodle, Reginald), and built a life in Whitefish filled with community, mountains, non-stop adventures and more love than we ever imagined. And now, we’re making forever official. We can’t wait to celebrate and share the life we’ve built with the people who helped shape our story. See you in Whitefish!
