Amidst the chaos of COVID-19 in June 2020, with many other trips canceled, we were fortunate to make a return visit to The Point. In an echo of those that visited the Adirondacks around the turn of the 20th century seeking the mountain air “cure” to tuberculosis, and the titans of industry that developed the lakeside great camps in the early 1900s to entertain family and friends in the natural beauty of the region, we escaped NYC for a weekend getaway to a resort basically designed for social distancing (before that was a buzzword). Unbeknownst to Elsa, Kevin had worked with the staff of The Point to take advantage of the idyllic great camp setting for an engagement surprise. After a fun-filled weekend on Upper Saranac Lake, we drove back to NYC and had dinner at our favorite pizza shop. While waiting for our pizzas to cook, we excitedly brainstormed potential wedding locations - the first option we both blurted out was “The Point”! We’re so excited to share such a magical place with you all.
