We actually met briefly for the first time after Cru (a college campus organization) on a Thursday night in November 2017. We didn't see each other again until August 2018, again at Cru. I was with my roommate and maid of honor, Ellison, when I saw him again. We walked over to him and I said hi and introduced Ellison. After an awkward exchange of what seemed to have meant to be a handshake that ended in them holding hands, I jokingly pronounced them "husband and wife". We stood there and talked to him for a while and then went home. Ellison immediately told me that she had a feeling that he was interested in me but I just thought he was being nice. We stuck to hanging out on Thursday nights after Cru, then it was a couple nights a week, then practically every day. As many would attest, I am a terrible texter but when Nathan started texting me I found it easy to keep the conversation going and as I got to know him more and more I knew I was interested. In December 2018 we went on our first date! He took me to Mama Mia's, we accidentally ended up driving to Sanford, and then we went back to my apartment to watch a movie. He let me choose the movie so of course we ended up watching The Bee Movie, all while Ellison was sitting in the corner studying for finals.

Although I met Eloisa in 2017, we never really became more than acquaintances until August of 2018. We re-met each other after Cru one night, and I was instantly interested in her. The next day, we spent a few hours talking in the park at another Cru event. As I was leaving the park I told my friend Dilip that I was interested in her and promptly gave her a follow on Instagram, hoping that feeble gesture would show my interest. The next night I hosted a game night at my apartment and strategically invited her, being sure to play it cool. Thankfully we were able to talk a lot that night about movies and books and so much more. As the months progressed, we spent more and more time together until I could no longer just be her friend. So one night I let her know how I felt, for some reason she felt the same way, and soon enough we were dating!

After a short 7 months of dating, and much discussion on their plans for the future, Nathan decided he was going to propose. Nathan filled Ellison in on it and they began to plan how to carry it out. They decided to plan a "game night" at Eloisa and Ellison's apartment that would later turn into an engagement party. In June 2019, Nathan took Eloisa to a spot in Downtown Apex he knew was special to her and he got down on one knee and proposed!
