Elly was on her way home from a workout class on a Thursday night in early August of 2020. Her roommate at the time, Liya, called her and said, "my classmate and I were going to study tonight, but we're going to order tacos and tequila instead. Do you want to join?" Elly said yes and was obviously thinking her classmate would be a girl. Elly walked into the apartment and instantly saw Mac and thought, "Oh my gosh, her classmate is a boy. And he is cute! AND tall! And I look like a tomato after that workout." Elly introduced herself to Mac, went to take a shower, and instantly texted her mom. Elly, Mac, and Liya went up on the rooftop to enjoy the tacos and tequila. Elly went back down to the apartment to grab a couple drinks for everyone and FaceTimed her mom to tell her about Mac. Elly's mom answered the phone and said, "Elly! Put on some mascara or something! Make yourself look a little more presentable!" So Elly put on some mascara before going back up to the roof. Apparently the mascara did the trick, because Mac eventually asked Elly on a date, and then a couple more dates, and the rest is history!
