From our local source: Ship Island is located an hour boat ride out in the Gulf of Mexico. It is a primitive island that's a National Park. The Beach and water there are beautiful. There's bathrooms and a concession stand on the island but other than that it's natural undisturbed beaches. The boat holds a large group of people.
