How They Met September 2011 One day, as Ellya was leaving the train station to register for school, Ray had just left work, heading towards the station himself. In passing, he noticed her and said "Hey! you're beautiful.. see you later." Ellya thought to herself what a crazy stranger. Little did they both know this would be the beginning of their journey. In the following days, classes had begun, and sure enough Ray spotted her outside again and told her, "See, I told you I would see you later" and proceeded to walk away. Ellya was confused as to why he would not stop to chat. Finally, by the third encounter, Ray had formally introduced himself. In passing time, the two became best friends; sharing their stories, their cultures and ultimately their lives together. The Proposal October 2019 It had become a tradition for Ray and Ellya to take an annual trip somewhere over seas, and this year the two had decided that they wanted to revisit Europe. During the trip Ray had gifted her a bracelet and said, "I didn't have enough to purchase you an engagement ring so I got you this instead." Although Ellya loved her bracelet she still was a little hurt. She asked him, "why didn't you just save the money from the bracelet and put it towards the ring?" He replied, " I didn't want to come empty handed." On Ray's birthday in Paris, the couple was invited by Gerald (Ellya's cousin), to his Festival titled, "One Love" of which 5,000 people would be attending. As the lovers took in the scene, Ellya was so focused on making sure Ray was having a exemplary birthday that she had no notion that he had a trick up his sleeve for her. After a few moments, a women on stage had called Ray to come up. Ellya thought perhaps maybe it was her cousin that was trying to do something nice for his birthday. Until...... Ray took the microphone and called her to the stage! He professed his love, got on his knee, and asked if she would marry him!
