Question

What are my transportation options to/from the airport?

Answer

You can add on transportation to/from the airport to the resort when you book your stay. For the return trip taking an Uber or taxi from the resort to PVR airport is the most cost-effective option. From the airport, you can expect to pay ~$25 USD for a taxi or Uber, and ~$18 USD to return to the airport from the resort. You will see an authorized taxi stand directly outside baggage claim which will allow you to pay for your taxi in advance via credit card or cash, after which you will be escorted to your designated cab outside. Another option is to meet with other guests at the airport and take transportation together; if you land early, there is a Corona bar/restaurant directly outside the exit doors (to your right as you walk out) to keep you entertained as you wait! Feel free to reach out to Chad or Elli for more transportation advice or if you have any concerns.

Question

How do we book accommodations? Do you have a room block?

Answer

Our travel agent, Chad Simpson, will assist you in booking your accommodations at either Garza Blanca or Hotel Mousai! Refer to the link on the Hotel&Travel tab for the different room types available. Chad can answer any other questions or future booking alterations that you might have. Please reach out to him at Chad@CreatingTravelExperiences.com or 1-260-341-5483

Question

Do I have to stay at the same resort as the wedding?

Answer

We believe that a destination wedding should offer guests an entire experience, rather than a single event! By choosing to stay at the same resort, you will be able to enjoy all wedding-related festivities and resort perks outside of the ceremony and reception, and join the bride, groom, and other guests at the Garza Blanca Preserves private beach, pools, bars, or restaurants throughout the weekend (...or not, it's a large resort!). We kindly ask that you consider booking your stay at either Garza Blanca or Hotel Mousai and take advantage of the discounted room rates and convenience of being located in the same location as the welcome party/rehearsal dinner, in addition to reducing additional transportation fees that you may incur. Please let us know if you plan on looking for other accommodations or have any questions or concerns!

Question

I see that the Garza Blanca and Hotel Mousai are all-inclusive resorts. What will be covered during my stay?

Answer

Pricing includes all food, drinks, and resort entertainment. By staying at the resort you will be included in all wedding festivities and receive all-inclusive benefits of the resort including several swimming pools, private swimmable beach access, water sports & activities (kayaks, paddle boards), as well as unlimited food and beverage at all restaurants, bars, and room service.

Question

Do we need to convert US Dollars to Mexican Pesos?

Answer

Yes, you can convert your US cash into Mexican pesos upon arrival in Puerto Vallarta, however the exchange rate may not be favorable. Based on our experience in Puerto Vallarta, we highly suggest that you order Mexican Pesos in advance through your bank, specifically in smaller denominations ($20's, $50's, $100's MXN) for tipping and payments (i.e., taxis or gift shops). Another option is to bring US dollars in denominations of $1's, $5's, and $10's (for tipping). Most ATM's, including the resorts, only dispense Mexican Pesos in $200 MXN bills (around $11 USD), and the hotel typically cannot break larger bills. If you plan on using a credit card for anything be advised that some credit card issuers charge a foreign transaction fee.

Question

What will the temperature be?

Answer

The average temperature in Puerto Vallarta this time of year is a high of 89 degrees, and low of 73 degrees in the evening. This is perfect weather for getting some sun during the day-time but cool enough to enjoy an outdoor wedding and reception in the evening.

Question

Is there a dress code for the wedding and welcome party?

Answer

Yes, the dress code is beach-formal attire. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all take place at a remote beach a 40-minute boat ride away. Feel free to wear cocktail dresses, dressy pantsuits, cotton or linen button downs with slacks (jackets and ties are not required). All white attire for the welcome party.

Question

Do I need a passport to travel to Puerto Vallarta?

Answer

Yes, a passport is required when traveling to Mexico. Please ensure that you have the proper documentation to ensure your travel. We suggest your passport be valid for at least 3 months from your return home date. If need be, please acquire a passport or renew your existing passport before traveling to Mexico. For more information visit: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

You are welcome to bring your kids to vacation with you at the Garza Blanca Resort (Hotel Mousai is adults-only). However, wedding events will be adults only. You can work with the concierge to arrange a babysitter for the evening, or you can bring your own!

Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

The wedding will be at Las Caletas beach, a remote beach in Puerto Vallarta accessible by boat only. We will be providing transportation from the resort to the marina to catch the boat over at 4:30pm on 2/1/25. It is ~45 minutes to the beach. The open bar will begin on the boat ride over.

Question

How long should I stay there?

Answer

We picked Puerto Vallarta for our destination wedding location as it is an amazing vacation spot with many things to do and see, from snorkeling cruises to island hopping, food and liquor tastings, zip-lining, or just hanging at the beach and exploring the town! The bride and groom will be staying at the Hotel Mousai from Tuesday, January 28th to Tuesday, February 4. The longer you stay, the better; but stay as long as you like!

Question

Can I drink the tap water at the resort or in Puerto Vallarta in general?

Answer

NO! Please do not drink tap water while in Mexico, including at the resort. The resort will provide unlimited, large bottles of water for you to drink AND use to brush your teeth (yes, I mean it, please use the bottled water to brush your teeth). Ice is safe at the resort, however if you choose to explore outside restaurants or bars in PV, always ask for bottled water instead of tap. Please try to avoid the tap water in order to keep your tummy happy and healthy, so that you can fully enjoy your Mexico vacation! If in doubt about the water, booze is generally a safe alternative ;).

Question

I have a food allergy or dietary restriction; may I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please let us know so we can work with the catering chef.
