Our story began in 1996 during vacation bible school at St. Joseph FWB Church, which was Susan's home church. Brian attended FVH high school with Susan's cousins and they had invited them to come for VBS from St. Augusta FWB Church. We met in class and Susan thought Brian was very cute. It wasn't until the youth trip to Six Flags in GA that year that we would both realize just how much we really liked each other. Who knew, that back in 1996, we would be where we are today!

In September of 2021, we took a trip to Costa Rica to celebrate Brian's and Jaelyns' birthdays. Prior to the trip, it was decided with we would dress up for dinner 2 nights that week and we also chose a color to wear on those evenings. That Friday, 9/3/21, Brian seemed to be a little on edge all day, but I figured it was all the excitement from a fun-filled day or zip-lining and riding ATVs through the forest. However, as the day progressed, Brian continued to get antsier and antsier. That evening, we all, including the children, dressed in all white for dinner. Dinner at the resort was lively and fun. As we neared the end of dinner and prepared to pop the bottle of champagne, there was a change in the atmosphere. The kids pulled out their phones and began to record, so of course, I'm getting extra curious. Brian began to discuss the challenges they have faced in this life together and how we stood the test of time. He, being his normal cool self, ended the speech with declarations of love, ALL while sitting in the middle of the restaurant and everyone around us watching. He then.. asked me to marry him. I of course had to ensure this was really happening, after all this time, but of course, I said yes!! So here we are after 26 years of ups and downs, good and bad...withstanding the test of time, WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!
