Angel Oak Tree
The Angel Oak Tree is the oldest living organism east of the Mississippi River. This is a beautiful destination to add to your Charleston vacation and it's free! The drive through Johns Island is also breathtaking.
Sullivan's Island
Morning or evening beach walks on Sullivan's Island is one of Elliott's favorite things to do in Charleston. You can even take a drive through the streets and look at all the beautiful houses. When you are hungry, stop by Poe's Tavern or The Obstinate Daughter for a great bite to eat!
Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park
A walk or run across the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge is a fun way to get outside and exercise. You can park at the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park and take a walk across the bridge and then enjoy the beautiful pier and swings once you are finished!
Historic Charleston City Market
If this is your first time to Charleston, you have to visit the market on Meeting Street! This is a great place to find local gifts and souvenirs like sweet grass baskets, pecan pralines, and benne wafers.
White Point Garden
This is the heart of the historic downtown district. This is where we took many of our engagement pictures! From White Point Garden, you can also walk down The Battery and Rainbow Row on East Bay Street.
King Street
If you like to shop, then this is the place for you! You can find many great stores on King Street like Anthropolgie, The Skinny Dip: Charleston Edition, M. Dumas & Sons, and more.
Christophe Artisan Chocolatier
If you are shopping on King Street, stop by Christophe's Bakery to pick up a chocolate croissant, macaroons, or chocolate to satisfy your sweet tooth! There is great sitting area in the back that will make you feel like you are right in France.
Barsa Tapas Lounge & Bar
This is our favorite restaurant for a fun date night! Barsa has a great selection of Spanish dishes like paella, pan con tomate, and patatas bravas just to name a few. Stop by during happy hour, anyday from 4-7pm for great prices on food and drinks. If planning to come here, it is always a good idea to reserve a table because it can get busy.
