Costco Wholesale

We found the best rental care rates through Costco. I think most of our friends and family have a membership and know how to book through them. They all have shuttles that will take you to the rental car location, Alamo was the best. We did a small SUV, Ford Escape, and it was perfect.

Kaanapali

This area is where all the ocean front beach resorts are in West Maui. We've stayed at the Sheraton Maui Resort at Black Rock and it was awesome, we're just not a fan of the fees such as a daily resort fee, daily parking fee, not being close to your car and high drink prices. There are also condo high rises in this area that have better rates. The best snorkeling is at Black Rock Beach and is walking distance to Whaler's Village.

Napili-Honokowai

This area has a ton of condo options. We stayed at the Pohailani Maui Resort and it was a perfect two bedroom condo with parking right out front, patio and kitchen. Anything in this area is a good option, also known as Kahana, and a short drive from the resort area with a nearby grocery store, Times Supermarket and also in walking distance to a general store, McDonalds, Maui Brewing, Miso Phat Sushi, Dollie's Pub.

Kapalua

This is the northern side of West Maui, it has a lot of condo options but not much beach front properties except in Napili Bay. This area is more private so has pricier optiones like Montage Kapalua Bay and The Ritz Carlton. Kapalua is where our ceremony is located, Merriman's Maui. Kapalua Bay and Napili Bay are perfect for beach days and snorkeling.
