FAQs

Question

Where is the ceremony taking place?

Answer

We're celebrating at Grace E. Simons Lodge, nestled inside Elysian Park — LA's oldest park, dating back to 1889. The address is 1025 Elysian Park Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90012. You'll find a picturesque brook, pond, and bridge on the grounds. It's a truly special setting and we can't wait to share it with you.

Question

Is parking available?

Answer

There is on-site parking at the lodge — a lower lot with 18 spaces and an upper lot with 13 spaces — but spots are limited and will fill up quickly. Additional public parking is available nearby within Elysian Park. Because of the limited on-site capacity, we strongly encourage guests to carpool or use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. This will make arrival (and departure!) much smoother for everyone. If you do drive, plan to arrive early to secure a spot, and be prepared to walk a short distance from overflow parking.

Question

What time should guests arrive?

Answer

We ask that all guests be seated at least 15 minutes before the ceremony begins. Doors will open 30 minutes prior. Given the parking situation, arriving a little early is especially wise — it'll give you time to park, walk in, and settle before things get started.

Question

Is the venue accessible for guests with mobility needs?

Answer

The venue is wheelchair accessible and restrooms are available on-site. If you or a member of your party requires any special accommodations, please let us know at least 72 hours in advance so we can make sure everything is in place for you.

Question

Will there be alcohol at the reception?

Answer

Yes! We'll have a beer and wine bar available during the reception. Per venue policy, all alcohol must be served through an authorized bar service — guests may not bring their own alcohol onto the property. We'll make sure there are wonderful non-alcoholic options as well.

Question

Can I bring my own drinks or a bottle of wine as a gift?

Answer

We love the thought, but the venue does not permit outside alcohol on the premises. All beverages must be served through our authorized bar service. We are requesting all gifts are towards the honeymoon fund.

Question

Are dietary restrictions accommodated?

Answer

Absolutely. Please contact us to indicate any dietary restrictions or allergies when you RSVP so we can ensure you're well taken care of. If you have a severe allergy, please reach out to us directly and we'll coordinate with the caterer in advance.

Question

Is smoking permitted?

Answer

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the venue or within the ceremony and reception spaces. If you need to smoke, please step away from the event area entirely and be mindful of other guests. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping the space pleasant for everyone.

Question

Can I walk on the grass or explore the grounds?

Answer

The grounds are beautiful and we encourage you to enjoy the bridge, walking path, and pond area. Please note that no activities are permitted on the grass within the Grace E. Simons Lodge area — so keep the lawn-lounging for the rest of Elysian Park! Comfortable shoes are a good idea since some paths are uneven.

Question

Can I bring my pet?

Answer

As much as we love animals, pets are not permitted at the venue, with the exception of certified service animals. If you have a service animal, please let us know ahead of time.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones! If your invitation includes children, please do bring them along. If your invitation is addressed only to you and a plus-one, we kindly ask that it remain an adults-only occasion. If you're unsure, feel free to reach out and we'll clarify.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our venue features white Corinthian columns, lush green hedge walls, crystal chandeliers, and florals in blush, ivory, lavender, and deep rose — think an enchanted Italian garden where classical ruins are overtaken by climbing flowers. Dress as if you're a guest at a candlelit soirée in a secret garden.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We're having an unplugged ceremony — we kindly ask all guests to keep phones and cameras put away during the ceremony itself. Our photographer will capture every moment beautifully, and we'll share the full gallery with everyone after. Feel free to snap away during the cocktail hour and reception!
