I (Ellie) was hanging out at a friend's house (shout out Megan!) one night in December of 2016. My friend told me her friend Jake was coming over to hang out with us too. I had never met Jake and didn't think much of it. Jake came and we instantly hit it off! We had many similar interests and values. Later that night Jake asked me out on a date (even though I had no idea he was asking me out) and I told him to call me in the morning. He called and we have not stopped talking since. I guess you could say the rest is history :)

Jake and I had just moved out of our rental house into our friend's house (shout out Ryan!) while we awaited the closing on our first home. I had a summer cold and wasn't feeling the best, not to mention all the stress from moving. As my mother can attest, I was cranky. When I woke up from my nap Jake said we could have El Patron for dinner (our favorite place). That perked me up a bit and off we went to get dinner. We brought dinner back to the house to watch the UFC fights (another favorite of ours). We had just finished dinner and our cat Felix was sleeping on my lap. Jake went to go get our other cat Skittles because he said he wanted the whole family together. Many of you see where this is going at this point but I had no idea! Jake sat down next to me and started saying sweet things (that I wish I could remember). I looked down and swear to you I blacked out! There was this beautiful ring and my best friend was asking me to marry him. I of course cried like a baby and said yes.
