We met through a mutual friend while we were both working at the same company— Nick in sales and Ellie in marketing. What started as occasional conversations in the office quickly became something we both looked forward to each week. At the time, we were only going into the office once a week, which somehow made those days feel even more special. Between chatting about Nick’s dog Diesel, music, friends, family, and work, we realized we had a surprising overlap in our circles—yet somehow had never crossed paths until then. As time went on, the conversations became more frequent (and a little more obvious), with Nick finding small, lighthearted ways to get Ellie’s attention—including the occasional dance outside her focus room. Right before Christmas in 2023, Nick finally asked Ellie out, and we went on our first date at Terzo shortly after. From the very beginning, everything felt easy and natural, and we always left each other feeling a little happier than before. We both knew early on that this was something special, even if it took a little time for everything to fall into place. We officially started dating in April of 2024, becoming each other’s first boyfriend and girlfriend—something that has made our relationship feel even more meaningful. From the start, we’ve kept God at the center of our relationship. Our story hasn’t always looked exactly how we imagined, but it’s turned out more beautifully than we could have planned. Through every season, we’ve learned to show up for each other as a team—supporting, encouraging, and growing together. Nick put so much thought into planning the perfect proposal. Ellie had a feeling it was coming and had her heart set on wearing a specific outfit—including tights—but after a week of not feeling well, the pressure of not knowing if it was actually the moment, and then ripping three pairs while getting ready, it all just felt like a lot. That’s when Nick finally let her in on the secret that he was proposing in just an hour and a half. We skipped the tights, pulled it together, and headed to Centennial Lakes Park for the proposal. We love each other deeply and feel so grateful for the way our story has unfolded—unexpectedly, but exactly as it was meant to be. We can’t wait to continue building a life together, with God at the center, filled with love, and surrounded by the people who mean the most to us.
