On the second day of our Ireland trip, we left Galway early in the morning and made our way to the Cliffs of Moher. The day was unbelievably gorgeous—blue skies, bright sun, and ladybugs everywhere, which felt like the first little sign that something special was coming. After soaking in the cliffs, we continued toward Dingle, stopping for lunch in a tiny village at a place called The Blue Door. While we ate, an Irish wedding was happening across the street, another sweet sign we couldn’t ignore. The drive into Dingle took us through Conor Pass, with winding roads, sweeping views, and sheep dotting the hillsides. We pulled over to explore a beautiful hidden lake that required a steep climb to reach, and then stopped again at a mountain path. The wind was wild but the sun stayed bright. As we started up the trail, we paused to take in the view and then continued a few steps further—until Nick suddenly said, “but first!” Before Ellie knew what was happening, he was down on one knee. Complete shock, lots of tears, and the happiest "yes!" followed. A kind couple nearby snapped a few photos for us, perfectly capturing the moment. We drove into Dingle afterward and celebrated the beginning of our forever with a pint of Guinness.
