Jon and Ellie will be staying in Kailua, a town on the east side of the island known for its beautiful beaches and easy access to excursions. Because hotel development is restricted in Kailua, accommodations here are primarily available through Airbnb or Vrbo. These properties are closely located to a quaint downtown area with boutiques, restaurants, and grocery stores. The wedding venue, Paliku Gardens at Kualoa Ranch, is also located on this side of the island.
Hotel
Paradise Bay Resort is a small resort on the Windward side of Oʻahu, located in a quiet neighborhood approximately 20 minutes from Kailua and about 15 minutes from the wedding venue. The resort offers a range of accommodations, including one- and two-bedroom waterfront cottages with their own kitchens, kayak/paddle board rentals, and boating trips to an offshore island. This spot may be a good fit for guests traveling as couples, families, or small groups. It is easily accessible to a range of excursions including botanical gardens, hikes, and tours at Kualoa Ranch. Please note that while it is waterfront, it is ~20 minutes from the closest sandy beach. We encourage you to check out the location on Google Maps to get a better sense of what it is close to and if it is a good fit for your group! Paradise Bay Resort does not offer room blocks. When we last contacted the resort, they shared that they would begin booking February 2027 dates in September 2026. We recommend contacting the resort directly for the most current information about availability, pricing, booking timelines, and policies.

Waikīkī is one of Oʻahu’s main hotel and resort areas located close to downtown Honolulu and offers a wide range of accommodations at different price points. It is approximately a 45-minute drive from the wedding venue and about 30 minutes from Kailua, though drive times may be longer with traffic. Waikīkī is a popular visitor area and has many hotels within walking distance of dining and beach access. Highly reviewed hotels in this area include Halekulani, The Royal Hawaiian, Queen Kapi'olani, Hyatt Regency, Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort, and Prince Waikiki. These vary widely in price point, parking, and proximity to the beach, so we recommend reviewing current rates, parking costs, and recent guest reviews before booking.
