Hotel recommendations?
Answer
The Portola Hotel & Spa at Monterey Bay and Friday drinks/food welcome event are located in downtown Monterey off Alvarado Street. We recommend staying at one of our hotel blocks or a hotel in the city of Monterey. Other hotel recommendations are: Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa, Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa, Intercontinental The Clement Monterey Hotel, and Monterey Marriott Wedding site will be a 10-15 minute Uber.

How is traffic from San Jose SJC & San Francisco SFO Airports to the Monterey Peninsula?
Answer
On Friday afternoon, September 12, 2025, Northern California Bay Area traffic traveling southbound can be quite congested starting around 2:00. Thereafter, anticipate doubling travel time with traffic. On Saturday September 13, 2025 traffic starts getting congested around 10:00am and worsens into the afternoon. Thereafter, also anticipate doubling travel time with traffic.

As your UBER drives past the main gates of the property, you will see an attendant at the ceremony drop off area. Feel free to grab an Aperol Spritz before the ceremony!

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

If you decide to Uber to the wedding, we will have a ONE-WAY charter bus back to the Portola Hotel & Spa throughout the night at 3 times: 8:30pm 9:30pm 10:30pm

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Yes, plenty of public parking. Overnight parking is allowed as well for those who indulge in our signature cocktails.

The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will be a combination of indoor and outdoor.

Weather in Monterey in early September?
Answer
Mid 60s to low 70s and sunshine during the day and cool in the evenings but beautiful time of year! Fall is Summer on the Monterey Peninsula. Very similar to San Francisco.
