Close to the hotels! Andy Warhol went to Carnegie Mellon and is a Pittsburgh icon. You can walk across the Andy Warhol bridge nearby! Make sure to go to the basement level if you want to try screen printing for yourself!
PNC Park
Go to a Pittsburgh Pirates game! The stadium has a beautiful view of the city and tickets are cheap! There are home games August 2nd and 4th.
Carnegie Science Center
Great place to take kids! They have a submarine you can tour, a model train room, a robot room, and a sports activity room. It's close to the hotels.
Mattress Factory
This is a fun contemporary art museum to visit with interesting exhibits! It would take you an hour or less to walk through.
Point State Park Fountain
Great view of the city and all the bridges!
Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens
We go here at least twice a year! They have many beautiful floral rooms with Chihuly art, ponds, and outside gardens.
Carnegie Mellon University
Carnegie Mellon is a beautiful campus to walk around!
Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh
A huge art museum that is connected to the natural history museum (one ticket will get you in to both). This is a great place to spend a few hours!

This is our favorite Pittsburgh diner! Beat the breakfast rush before 10am and get the best cinnamon roll pancakes you've ever had. Bring cash because they don't take card.
DiAnoia's Eatery
This is a great option for dinner with delicious pastas. Make a reservation ahead of time to ensure you get a table!
Strip District Terminal
It's fun to walk around the Strip District on Saturday morning. Check out the Terminal before going a block over to Penn Avenue where vendors have stalls outside of shops. Our favorite stops are Pennsylvania Macaroni Co (a huge italian grocery store), Peace Love and Little Donuts, the In the Kitchen store (kitchen gadgets), and La Prima (coffee).
Peppi's
This is our favorite Pittsburgh sandwich shop! You can't go wrong getting Peppi's for lunch or dinner.
Emporio: A Meatball Joint
Emporio is a unique restaurant serving meatballs over any base you want (mac and cheese, fries, mashed potatoes). So good!
Gateway Clipper Fleet
The Gateway Clipper offers river boat tours around Pittsburgh! It's a fun way to see the city. We've gotten discounted tickets on Groupon, so try that before booking!
Monongahela Incline
Pittsburgh is one of the few cities left with operational Inclines! A car will take you up and down a large hill, with great views at the top! Tickets are around $4 round trip. We recommend parking at Station Square East Lot Parking (160 E Carson St, Pittsburgh PA 15219) and walking over to the Monongahela Incline at Lower Station to buy tickets.
