It would shock nobody to hear that we met in a class. Anatomy class to be specific (a very literal comment with no other funny stuff implied). Colin had trouble with registration, and as a result got stuck taking anatomy class an hour away at the Laurel campus. Ellie too decided to register last minute. After two hours of running from office to office, she too got into a late starting class at Laurel. With all the hubbub Ellie misread the start time and ended up running frantically into the classroom an hour late! Colin was annoyed with the girl who had the gall to show up late and interrupted class with too many questions. Fate ensured that they were paired as lab partners and they took the rest from there! By half way through the semester they were avid study buddies (with Ellie as the perpetual science tutor :) ), and by the final test Colin was staying over almost every night.
Colin says every day that he knew he would marry Ellie the day he agreed to get a dog with her. A child is a big commitment after all, even a fur child. By the end of September 2016, they were set on adopting a four month old lab mix from DC Paws rescue group. Addy was the best thing that happened to them, and a very well behaved puppy for the most part. Every weekend event is planned around the puppy now. Favorite outings include the dog park, walking on Andrew's base, and a day out in downtown Annapolis. Addy gets lots of attention from tourists and is happy for all the pets. Addy can not wait for the end of every day when we curl up on the bed and she settles in her dog bed. She is only truly happy when her whole family is there and she cannot wait to meet everyone else at the wedding.
